In almost every conversation about spiritual development, the focus tends to move quickly upward — toward the heart, the third eye, the crown. And while those centres are beautiful and important, there is a fundamental problem with skipping what comes before them. You cannot build a soul calling on an unstable ground.
The root chakra — safety and belonging
The root chakra sits at the base of the spine and governs your most primal needs: safety, belonging, stability, and the basic right to exist and take up space. When it is clear, you feel grounded. Present. At home in yourself even when the external world is uncertain.
When it is blocked — which it is for many women who grew up in environments where safety was conditional — there is a persistent background anxiety that no amount of mindset work will fully shift. A sense that the ground beneath you is never quite solid. This is not a personality trait. It is an energy pattern. And it can be cleared.
The sacral chakra — creativity and emotional freedom
The sacral chakra sits just below the navel and governs creativity, pleasure, emotional flow, and the ability to feel fully alive. When it is blocked — often through shame, suppressed emotion, or the long habit of putting everyone else’s feelings first — creativity dries up, joy becomes hard to access, and the deep knowing of your own desires goes quiet.
The solar plexus — identity and self-worth
The solar plexus sits at the upper abdomen and governs personal power, self-worth, and the ability to act from a place of genuine authority. When it is open, you know who you are. You make decisions from your own centre rather than from the need for approval.
When it is collapsed — as it is for most women who have spent years shrinking themselves — there is a persistent undercurrent of self-doubt. The sense that you need permission. That you are not quite enough yet.
Why this matters for your purpose
The woman who has cleared her lower three chakras moves through the world differently. She does not need constant reassurance. She does not abandon her purpose every time life gets hard. She has a foundation. And from that foundation, everything becomes possible.
