Why some of the most difficult chapters of our lives may be part of our soul calling.

Meditation and ceremony are where we prepare. Real life is where we are tested.

Think of a situation where a challenge literally asks everything of you. You are put into a corner and you have to respond — sometimes with a strength you didn’t know you had, sometimes with compassion, often with both.

When these challenges are overwhelmingly huge, they are karmic resolutions. And as a modern-day priestess, you are bound to meet many of them.

What is a karmic resolution?

Karma is unresolved energy looking for completion. It shows up as the relationship dynamic that keeps repeating, the fear that follows us from one chapter to the next, the familiar way we hand our power over, or a situation that finally asks us to do what we were once unable to do.

A karmic resolution happens when we meet that old pattern with new awareness. We stop responding from the wound. We stop abandoning ourselves to keep the peace. We stop confusing spiritual love with endless tolerance, and we stop staying silent when our soul is clearly asking us to speak.

We choose differently. And that new choice begins to close the loop.

Choosing differently takes deep inner work. You are stepping out of a loop that may have been running for many lifetimes — it sometimes feels like using the force that stops a fighter jet. That is how much energy needs to be transformed.

Some challenges feel bigger than the present moment

Have you ever moved through something that felt strangely familiar? The circumstances were new, but the emotions were ancient. The fear ran deeper than the situation could explain.

Experiences like these often reveal patterns carried through childhood, through our ancestral line or — depending on what you believe — through previous lifetimes. They tend to circle the same themes: power and powerlessness, abandonment, control, silence versus self-expression, persecution for speaking the truth, over-responsibility, losing ourselves in relationships, learning to trust what we know.

When one of these patterns returns, it doesn’t mean you have failed. Often it returns because you are finally ready to resolve it. The soul brings the pattern into the light so we can meet it with the consciousness, courage and inner resources we have now — resources we simply didn’t have the last time.

The question that changes everything

A karmic resolution begins the moment the question shifts. It stops being why is this happening to me and becomes who is my soul asking me to become through this.

In Part 2, I share how to actually move through one of these chapters — what to do with the fear, how to hear your intuition inside the storm, and why resolving karma is never spiritual bypassing.
